To provide an all-weather facility for Broken Biscuits to run our award-winning education program. Where families can visit to learn from vets how to care for their injured animals. We also run specialised sessions for vets & others involved in the pet industry. To meet demand for this program we need to install a washable resin floor and install toilet facilities so that we can run these sessions year round and cater for bigger groups. Keeping happy families together longer. Saving lives

Description synthétique du projet:
When a pet presents at a clinic, in a moment of crisis, the focus is too often on limitations rather than possibilities. Over the last 10 years Broken Biscuits have worked with vets to raise awareness of the options post injury, & compiled a wealth of knowledge regarding disabled pet care. This has been developed into our award-winning education program designed to provide accurate & timely information, from experts in disabled animal care, to help keep happy families together longer & open up the pet industry to disabled pets. At our Lincolnshire Sanctuary & Rehabilitation Centre families come & learn how to care for their injured animals in a safe & supportive environment. Gaining the necessary skills & confidence to free from the distractions and challenges of busy public parks and footpaths. We also run specialised sessions for vets & others involved in the pet industry about the management & care of disabled pets. This includes training for dog walkers, groomers, cat boarders, RSPCA staff, shelter workers etc. Basically, anyone who wants to open up their business to disabled dog care & better meet their needs. Gaining accreditation. Making it easier for disabled pets & their owners to enjoy facilities that able-bodied pet owners can often take for granted. This project will involve the installation of a washable resin floor inside our education centre building to provide a dog proof all year round, all weather, facility to host our sessions, as well as disabled toilet facilities, (toilet, wash basin, taps and associated plumbing), to meet the needs of attendees. The size of the area to be resin coated is 9.5m x 18 m (42.75 square metres). The end result will be a multi-purpose venue to host training courses & seminars, wheelchair fitting sessions, as well as a studio for the production of digital media for distribution of educational material online & via social media
Résumé des principaux objectifs attendus:
If the full amount requested (£11K) is granted it is expected that the floor of the Education Centre will be completely coated in durable resin to provide a washable water proof non slip surface. The toilet facilities will be installed & plumbed & lighting connected. Note that the disabled toilets, washbasins & cubicles etc have already been acquired previously & are available on site for installation. This will allow us to accept larger groups & help more dogs & owners, Saving lives
