Regenerating Villa Fortuna
Regenerating Villa Fortuna is an experimental agricultural project with the purpose of regenerating farmland that was subjected to decades of intensive cultivation. It’s conducted on the fields surrounding the grounds that will become the headquarters of Fondazione Capellino, in the municipality of San Salvatore Monferrato, Italy.
This experiment will respect the fertility of the soil and the local ecosystem by applying techniques such as syntropic agriculture. Unlike traditional techniques, the implemented methods in this project will facilitate life, offering a better habitat for mammals, birds, insects, and microorganisms.
The results of this experiment, obtained in collaboration and under the watchful eyes of experts and academics, will be publicly available to encourage more sustainable forms of agricultural production that are respectful of biological diversity and, more than anything else, to enable everyone–not just an elite–to afford cleaner and better food.
