Companion For Life is a European project that aims to give dogs and cats a permanent legal status within the family unit.

Almo Nature intervenes by donating a month of pet food for a dog or cat that remains in a shelter.

It is necessary to involve in this action all the people who adopt or are looking for an animal

A choice of responsibility that we support by donating a month of Almo Nature to dogs and cats in need (who live in families without income, in shelters, or victims of disasters and emergencies).

Dogs and cats are part of our families and require certain recognition and responsibility, punishing abandonment on the street.
 
We promote a European Citizens' Initiative (ICE) aimed at asking the European Commission to issue a legal act for the inclusion of dogs and cats in the Family Status

In 2019, the activity allowed 24,450 dogs and cats to receive 736,716 solidarity meals in Italy, France, Germany, Belgium, Holland. As part of the Identification & Registration of dogs and cats (I&R), the activity financially supported the conduct of the international conference on I&R held in Berlin on 6 November 2019 with the aim of taking stock of the state of the art. in Europe at the legislative level and relaunch the path for a model of recognition of dogs and cats that is unique for all the countries of the European Union.

In 2020 the activity allowed 55,680 dogs and cats to receive 1,670,469 solidarity meals in Italy, France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, expanding the scope of intervention and collaboration with associations to support dogs and cats of families in financial difficulty in order to prevent abandonment by necessity.

In the I&R area, a highly innovative project is being developed which will be launched in Europe in the first half of 2022.

In the AdoptME area, a greater effort has been decided with an awareness campaign of the European population to encourage the conscious adoption of dogs and cats.

The 2020 Budget of the project amounts to € 1,827,050
The 2021 budget of the companion animal project for the period in charge of the Capellino Foundation and approved by the Board of Directors on 29/10 amounts to € 52,054

For shelters and associations
We have developed the activities of the project so that they are increasingly effective in supporting adoptions and against abandonment.
For each adoption registered on this site, Almo Nature sends a Welcome Kit directly to the adopter's home that corresponds to a month of feeding and donates another month to the Love Food Bank which, every four months, distributes the accumulated meals to the shelters and to families in financial difficulty with dogs and cats. How this project is financed
Whenever a can or a kibble of Almo Nature is purchased, you know that part of the money you spend goes towards the running costs of the project. Net of these, investment costs and taxes, the revenues are used to finance the projects of the Capellino Foundation in defense of biodiversity and the fight against climate change.
